Summer is upon us and what better way to spend a Friday evening than enjoying the company of your fellow Littleburyians for a Summer Sundowner at our local vineyard, Saffron Grange.  How lucky we are to have such a great venue on our doorstep!

Taking place on Friday 11th July, the event is a combined one for Littlebury Laddies and Littlebury Ladies – and for anyone else in the village or in Catmere End or Littlebury Green that wants to join us.

Saffron Grange have been running their Sundowners for a number of years and as well as their sparkling wine, they serve cocktails, Wylde Sky beer and a range of soft drinks.  A food truck from Smokewood BBQ will be on site – pre-ordering is recommended.  Unfortunately, you can’t take your own food or drink.  Children and dogs on a lead are welcome – the dogs not the children!

The Sundowners are very popular and the bar is open from 5.00-9.00pm.  We suggest arriving for 6.00-6.30pm (or earlier if you prefer) with a plan to eat together at around 7.15-7.30pm.  Saffron Grange have benches for seating but in case they are all taken, you are welcome to bring picnic blankets or your own chairs.  There is also cover in case of rain. There will also be a DJ playing mellow summer vibes.

For the energetic, it’s about a 2 mile walk to Saffron Grange along the public footpath opposite Walden Road – meet at the Littlebury Farmhouse triangle at 5.30pm.  Alternatively, if there is enough interest, we can explore organising some transport – either both ways or just on the way back.  Otherwise, see you there – there is ample parking available.

Big thanks to Bill for organising his ever-popular Walden Pub Crawl as June’s event.  August’s Laddies event will be Chris Shucksmith’s fabulous pizza night.
