We are a history group who have formed with members from the villages of Littlebury Green, Strethall and Catmere end. We are interested in finding out as much as we can about past events and peoples, especially when they are related to the villages close to home.
We are a relaxed informal group who meet approx every quarter – and we are quite small in number. We have had lectures from Dr David Melford , Dr Martin Rose and Christopher Hadley , all on locally relevant topics.
Alongside that , we’ve put on two exhibitions in St Peter’s community hub in Littlebury Green. The first was a general history of the locality in 2021, and the second , (in 2023), was a collective histories of individual houses .
We have also been interviewing local people to hear their own histories and find out more about near recent experiences .
LHHG are always interested to discover more about our local area – the infrastructure, the buildings, the people and also the events that influenced them.
New members are very welcome – you just need a little curiosity and enthusiasm!
