Ever wanted to know what lives in our river or would you like to be involved in helping to monitor its health?
The Riverfly Partnership is a UK wide citizen science project. We are a local group, newly formed, who using a kick sampling technique looking for specific invertebrates within the river. These species are sensitive to pollution.
Sampling takes place once a month. Great Chesterford, Wendens Ambo and Newport are also part of the project. The agencies involved include the Freshwater Biological Society, Essex Wildlife Trust and the Environmental Agency.
If you are interested in joining our group contact Fiona 07757 219831 to find out more information.
