The Recycling Centre for Household Waste (RCHW) is provided by Essex County Council and can be found on Thaxted Road, Saffron Walden.
Summer: 1 Mar- 15 Oct All week including weekends 9am – 5pm
Winter: 16 Oct-end of Feb All week including weekends16 Oct – end of Feb: 9am – 4pm
All day closing: Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day
Half-day closing: If Christmas Eve and New Years Eve fall on a day the recycling centre is usually open, the centre will close at 1pm
There is a recycling point at the Queens head in Littlebury also at the Lord Butler Leisure Centre, The Common car park, Swan Meadow car park, Community Centre Great Chesterford, Tesco, Radwinter Road in Saffron Walden. Additionally there is The Bell at Wendens Ambo and the Community Centre in Great Chesterford.
