The sound of the bells when you are ringing in the bell chamber is currently so loud that changes that are called (moving bells into a different ringing sequence) cannot be heard. For this reason we have been fundraising recently to install a false ceiling using acoustic-grade sheep’s wool insulation to deaden some of the noise. You won’t notice any difference from the outside but we will be able to at least hear each other’s ringing instructions and hopefully work on some more complicated ringing.
As a group, we would like to thank the community for being so generous and supportive in our fundraising endeavours at the quiz night and safari supper.
Littlebury currently has a small band of 6 regular ringers but we are always looking for more. We are keen to see if any young people in the village (aged 12 and over) would like to try. So, on Saturday 11th July we will be holding an open afternoon principally for our younger potential ringers. Come along anytime 3-4pm and give it a go. Any questions please contact Isabelle Page, Tower Captain, on 529089.
