Whilst preparing the Crime Reports for my areas, it has come to light that there were a number of domestic burglaries where access was gained via opening a big window from the inside by reaching in through a smaller window (possibly fanlight windows).

In these warmer days it is easy to forget to close small windows which may not have been opened very often since last year. Make sure any adjacent bigger windows are kept locked just in case, but ideally get in the habit of checking all windows (and doors) before leaving the house or going to bed. If your windows are not fitted with locks after fit locks are available via locksmiths and on line, however do try to purchase products that have been tested and approved to Sold Secure or Secured by Design standards.

Stay safe after cyber attacks

M&S and Co-op have been hit with major cyber-attacks in the past few weeks, causing disruption to online orders and stock availability in stores.

Co-op has since warned that the hackers have accessed a significant amount of data from 20 million past and current members. M&S has not disclosed whether customer data has been stolen. If you’re worried about your data, find out how to protect your information after a cyber-attack.  (Courtesy of Which? Scam Alert Team)
