The report gives an overview of the current position and state of the Catmere End Pond and immediate surrounding area as well as making a number of important suggestions about what needs to be done to improve the quality of the area and the pond to promote Biodiversity and Habit that will increase wildlife activity, numbers of species and diversity of plants and flowers.

Having received the initial report, there are some important steps that need take place as early as possible in the New Year:-

  • Organise consultation with the residents of Catmere End to confirm a) their expectations are for the area, b) the Catmere End Community involvement and c] outline possible actions and timing.
  • Proposed consultation – Saturday 7th January, 11:00am at the pond
  • Form an action group from Catmere End with LPC representation 
  • Report back to Littlebury Parish Council and Rebecca Inman the village’s views and aspirations for the Catmere End Pond
  • Have Rebecca Inman formalise the Biodiversity Plan for the Catmere End Pond bearing in mind input from consultation
  • Cost the Plan and explore availability of ECC and UDC environmental and Biodiversity Grants
  • Draw up an initial action plan to run through balance of January, February and March
