Sunday 25th May 2025 saw up to 50 parishioners walking the 14 mile boundary of Littlebury parish in ideal weather. Starting at Littlebury Rec at 10 am they walked to Gt Chesterford then up to Strethall Church where David Melford brought alive the centuries of history at Strethall Church. Then on to lunch at Manor Cottage, Strethall. After lunch they proceeded to Elmdon Lea via the Boundary Oak. At the Boundary Oak – the point where the three parishes meet, Tim consented to having his head “tapped on the tree” – referring to the old tradition that each boundary post would be beaten to mark it out in the minds of the younger generations.
Proceeding on via the Vodafone mast, the group were guided by Tom White through Audley End Estate to the Temple of Victory and then down to the Miniature Railway. A final stretch via Duck Street brought them back to the Rec on schedule but tired.
