WELCOME TO OUR WI ~ REACHING OUT TO WOMEN IN AND AROUND THE TOWN & VILLAGES WEST OF SAFFRON WALDEN
This year, 2017, we celebrate 100 years of the WI in Essex
We are a small but active WI, offering plenty of opportunities to get together with women of all ages and interests. Our programme is listed below and we hope you will be able to come along sometime. We occasionally have ‘Open’ meetings when partners and friends are very welcome, and potential new members may come as visitors at any time (maximum 3 times before joining).
Our Meetings are usually held in Wendens Ambo Village Hall on the 3rd Thursday of the month at 7.45 for 8.00 pm. We offer a chance for women to take time out for themselves, to meet old friends, make new ones and hear some interesting speakers, perhaps learn a new craft, visit somewhere unusual on our summer outing, or socialise in a member’s garden for a summer picnic.
Our members are friendly and outgoing, and we take an active interest in local, county and National events as well as support campaigns to improve the quality of life in many different ways. Our institute is a member of Audley Group and we support all their social events throughout the year. There is also a Spring-time meeting when we join other nearby WIs for a bigger get-together, often with an excellent speaker to entertain us, and when we present hand-made items to The Rosie Maternity Unit at Addenbrooke’s Hospital.

The current annual subscription of £39 (reduced if joining later in the year) entitles you to attend all meetings (with great refreshments!), monthly copies of our county and national magazines, opportunities to go to numerous other events and make new friends as a bonus.
