Cam Upper Reaches Action Team (CURAT) Littlebury

The Cam Upper Reaches Action Team (CURAT) is a group of volunteers concerned about the continuing decline in the condition of the river Cam, especially where it flows through north Essex into Cambridgeshire. Along this stretch are the villages of Newport, Wendens Ambo, Littlebury, Little Chesterford, Great Chesterford, Ickleton, Hinxton and Duxford.

The Littlebury chapter supports the campaigning work of CURAT to raise awareness of threats to the river from over-extraction of water from the chalk aquifer, as well as monitoring fish, bird and other wildlife along the river, and organising working parties to clear invasive species such as Himalayan balsam from the river bank.
