The Friends of Holy Trinity Church, Littlebury

The beautiful and historic church of Holy Trinity is at the heart of Littlebury. Grade 1 listed, it has its origins in the Norman era and has been present during almost nine centuries of events such as the plague, the reformation and two world wars. Holy Trinity has taken them all in its stride and is still as fresh and relevant today as at any time. However, like all good things the church needs to be loved; the work in keeping up the fabric, fixtures, fittings and the churchyard in which it stands is demanding in terms of funds and time.

The Friends of Holy Trinity Church is a secular organisation with charity status, which has been created to protect, preserve and enhance the church and its churchyard to ensure its survival for future generations. The Friends undertake all kinds of fund raising activity such as concerts, art exhibitions, speakers and open gardens enabling important renovation projects to be undertaken. The Friends also contribute considerably with practical support; their twice yearly ‘Ivy Pull’ afternoons’ are both valuable and a lot of fun.

Please visit the church and see for yourselves what a treasure we have in our village. Your support in the form of monetary contributions and practical assistance would be greatly appreciated. For further information contact:

Chair’s Report AGM 2015

My third year as Chair: I am delighted to work with such a dedicated team of people who contribute to the organisation fully. Janice as secretary, Jane as treasurer, and then Tim, Chris, Shirley, Ronnie and Sue, who all make our meetings vibrate. I deeply appreciate all their support.

We have a roving re-election of the committee and it is now Tim and Ronnie’s turn to be re-elected. We are very interested to hear of any particular and useful skills you (and others) can offer the Friends – perhaps creating a Facebook page?

We still have our attractive leaflets for distribution – so please do take one and hand them around. We hope this might engage potential members and detail some of the work and projects the Friends support. Also we still have the snowdrop cards for sale at the back of the church.

Thank you to the Ivy Pullers 2017

Splendid work was carried out in the churchyard on the day before Remembrance Sunday. Enthusiastic volunteers made the churchyard look wonderful including those who revealed this monument. Thank you Brian Lewis for these photos.
